TJ's Floppy Ear solution

This started out as a TJ hypothesis & experiment to see if it would work.  And so far I have had excellent results.  So here is the formula.... only works with a kinked ear and not a fully unstable ear.  With dog grooming clippers, carefully clip the hair of the inside ear.  Careful not to irritate the ear.  With an alcohol wipe, cleanse the inner ear to make a surface so that the tape will stick and let air dry.  Take a large sized nasal strip (nasal dilator that is used across the human's nose to open the upper airway) and place it vertically along the outer rim of the ear.  Be careful if it does come loose and falls off, the dog could eat it.

The reason why I chose to use nasal strips, is it is a brace that is light weight and usually unnoticed by the dog, and the brace inside the bandage is pulling toward the anterior (front) of the ear.  So the physics of how the nasal strip works actually helps to support and keep the ear upright.

Always monitor your dog, and keep the area clean and dry.  If you notice any redness or swelling carefully remove the nasal strip. Some dogs, like humans, may have a reaction to latex or adhesives used in tape.  Change regularly, if no problem.  Should not leave on for more than 12 hours, remove and then, let ear breath for 12 hours and replace. Also, when in doubt, consult your vet.  Here are some helpful photos of my gorgeous model Buddha, my Buddha-bear.  Feel free to contact us at 480-695-1491.  TJ & Buddha are not Vets, nor claim to be.... this is just something we are sharing that has worked for us.  Buddha's ear is not that floppy, so it is working for the kink in his ear, that could become something more than a kink without assistance.  Try at own risk.

Buddha's Mission

Buddha's mission should he choose to accept it.
Buddha, you are asked to mingle at gatherings and collect data regarding the guests.
Get plenty of rest, and whenever possible, make close contact with your humans.
Play and be silly, because we believe this is the elixir for longevity.
And most importantly, love and be loved.
Buddha, are you willing to accept.......... what do you think?

Buddha's 1st party!

Well, Buddha experienced his first party, my husband's 40th birthday bash.  We had just under 30 guests in our home to celebrate.  Buddha was great.  Our friends and family got to meet him.  And needless to say, 4 of them now want a shiloh of their own.   At about 10:00pm, Buddha and Keanu (the cavalier) put themselves to bed, they had enough of the party.

I am so happy with my Buddha.  His ears are standing TALL, too.  He is a great looking boy.
Peace & namaste~
