A Buddha life

Buddha starts his morning along with the other 3 dogs, coming into the bed, to wake Daddy up. Buddha eats a mostly organic raw food diet and, if need be, has his own nutritionist and biochemist who can tweak his diet through a hair analysis.  Buddha and the other dogs also ONLY drink reverse osmosis water that is bottled ONLY in glass, so to prevent toxins from entering the water via plastic.  Buddha also goes on a leisurely walk around the neighborhood which is at the base of a mountain (South Mountain) with lots of palm trees, cactus and wildlife.  When he is at home, Buddha enjoys just relaxing, and being part of the family.  What a Buddha-ful life.

A Buddha-ful Day

Today Buddha and Romeo went with us to our neighborhood wash (an open field), they played and had a lot of fun.  After much fun at the wash, we brought Romeo home and we went for a car ride to REI where a LARGE crowd formed to meet Buddha.  One man even started snapping photos.  He was being such a good boy.  After REI we went out to eat, stopped at Whole Foods, and Hollywood Video.  Buddha is awesome out in public, he is always eager to please me.  He is definitely laid back.
Enjoy some of the footage from today's Buddha-ful Day.
Peace & namaste~

Buddha's ears

Buddha's ears after 4 days of taping... I took off the tape to give him a little break.  Those EARS are SOOOO BIG.  And he is SOOOO HANDSOME.  Hope he grows into those ears.

Team Canine's puppy socialization class

Buddha had a bath, and went to his puppy socialization class, taught by his Mum and Dad at Team Canine, Inc.  He had a lot of fun socializing with other puppies.  Buddha is not afraid, but sits, or rather lies down, and observes the pups at first.  Then he decides on whom he is going to visit with.  We are just loving his personality.  He is going to be a great adult someday.  And as the Cat Steven's song lyrics say... I LOVE MY DOG.  Enjoy the video.

Buddha & Keanu

Buddha had his ears taped, and the ear specialist says it looks promising, but no guarantees. Buddha and Keanu have become great friends, and play all day long together.  They are buddy's.
Enjoy the video of their play.

Buddha was in his first puppy socialization class.  He was a little unsure at first, but is starting to warm up to the other pups.  ;-0)

New York to Arizona

WOW, what a busy day of flying.  I arrived at Buffalo International Airport 1030 Saturday morning after taking the red-eye from Phoenix.  As I was going down the escalator, there was Buddha and Tina and an entourage of welcomers.  Buddha was so quiet and laid back.  He went through security and was patted down, he did  not mind at all.  On the flight, he took up so much room that the man next to me, condensed his space to give Buddha more room.  We was AMAZING on his 2 flights, on the shuttle bus, and in the airports.

Buddha follows me everywhere.  A true shadow.  He is making friends with my 1yo Cavalier named Keanu, 5yo maltese mix Smudge, 11yo hound mix Romeo an our son's cat Sinbad.

Buddha had his first bath.  And even went to Brad's book signing and engaged with a few dogs and met a lot of people.

Buddha is seeing my vet tomorrow for a check up and to meet Dr. Bracken.  I know Buddha will just love the kind-heartedness of Dr. B.  I will let you know how he does.

Handsome baby boy.

Aloha
Tina just sent me these beautiful photos of Buddha.  Wow, he looks like a BIG boy.  I love his coloring.  I hope I am right, he looks like a big silly boy. I am hoping for mellow, and loves EVERYTHING.  Now I am more anxious with anticipation to meet him.  I hope he likes receiving HUGS ;-)

Can you believe no one wanted him because of his floppy ears....

Stay tuned for future updates.
Peace & namaste~

Anxiously awaiting.

Aloha,
My name is Jade (TJ). I am anxiously awaiting my trip to New York next weekend to pick up a puppy from Tina. His name is currently Mr. B, aka Biscuit. I am going to, with no disrespect to the original name of Biscuit, change the name to Buddha.

I am eager to begin the journey of hopeful therapy/service (I a have been diagnosed with severe asthma) work. But most of all, being my best friend and confidant. Starting my Master's program in Oriental Medicine (LAc) in May, and ultimately completing a Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree (OMD), it is my hope to have Buddha as part of my medical practice to lessen the anxieties of acupuncture needles with my human patients. So wherever I go, Buddha goes.

I have had german shepherds in the past, both from Germany and Czech. Although I did train and compete in personal protection trials, I no longer want the drives, reactivity and aggressions that are part of that package. I am so glad the I found the ISSR (International Shiloh Shepherd Registry) Shiloh Shepherd, the looks and intelligence of the shepherd but minus the reactive traits seen currently in the GSD. And thanks to the numerous ISSR shiloh people that I have spoken with, asking many, many questions to... to make sure that this is a good match for me. Especially, a BIG thanks (Mahalo nui loa) to Tina, the MaShiloh.

I cannot wait to meet and get to know my BUDDHA.
